Nogales meaning in English

The Spanish word, Nogales, translates to walnut trees in English. It is in the plural sense, so one walnut tree in Spanish would be, nogal. The binational community of Ambos Nogales received its name from the now nonexistent stands of Arizona Black Walnut trees that lined the Nogales Wash, a now urbanized zone that stretches across both sides of the border.
