Happy New Year, friends!
We are excited for 2024 and delighted in our reflections on this past year of Borderlandia’s work.
Our time with family over the holidays and the break has been valuable in contemplating our experiences over the year and has provoked so many smiles.
Many things just stand out as marvelous to us, but we will just share a few.
Foremostly, getting to know our guests and developing fantastic friendships with them throughout our travels to get to know our neighbors in Mexico.
Connecting Americans with Mexicans and observing interactions, laughter, and our shared humanity. This is a real treasure for us, seeing these interactions that otherwise may never happen without this important service we provide. This is citizen diplomacy in action.
Seeing the anxiety of travel in Mexico erode away in our guests with the opportunity to come and see for themselves and make up their minds about Mexico and their neighbors there, rather than letting the media decide for them.
Without you all and your support, our mission of building public understanding in the borderlands would not be possible. So, from our hearts, please know we are grateful to you.
From our mention in the New York Times and Time Magazine at the beginning of the year, to the incredible over 50 - 5 star reviews on Google, we made a lot of milestones that encourage us forth in knowing what we are doing is a valuable and necessary labor.
We are so thrilled to do what we love.
