Dear Friends,
Summer is on the horizon and we are delighted to reflect on a wonderful past spring of intercultural programming. For us, it’s always the people, the companions who join us, and the people we meet and connect with along the way. This is what makes these exciting experiences so special, always pushing something memorable to unforgettable.
There was no lack of these meaningful encounters between neighbors from Sonora, Chihuahua to the nation’s capital, Mexico City at the beginning of 2024. Thank you for being a part of it.
The increasing temperatures of the coming months will allow us time to work on learning and improving our labors in heritage interpretation and building public understanding of the borderlands and this summer in a new setting.
Through an award of a SURES residency, for our efforts with Borderlandia, I’ll be spending a month in Barcelona to take the time to learn and investigate what I can from the field of cultural heritage work in Spain. I aim to take back with me what I learn from the experience there to implement here in the borderlands.
We hope you like this edition of Borderlandia Magazine,
Alex
