Howdy Borderlandia friends,
Have you ever heard or read something that made your day?
That occurred recently when I read reviews from our guests about what they thought of this past month’s excursion to Alamos.
“Borderlandia tours are simply priceless. Everything one could want -- deep history, toasts in the best halls, joyful days and nights. Alex is a superstar in the border tour business."
“Pictures from a recent trip to Alamos with Borderlandia. Every day was a joy…Every meal was terrific. Tour leader Alex La Pierre knows the best restaurants and we ate (too) well. Can't recommend this trip enough. Fun companions as well.”
“...But the real reason the trip was so good was because of Alex La Pierre, the owner of Borderlandia. He is so knowledgeable about the history, the cultural diversity, the nature, the food, the customs of Sonora and other parts of Mexico that I was constantly learning and understanding with Alex as our guide.”
When someone has enthusiasm and love for any labor, it is hard not to notice. You can taste the love placed in the cooking of a dish when it is by a grandmother for her grandchildren or the care of precision and detail by a master sculptor.
It’s this mysterious spark of joy that you put into the world, and it has a way of finding you back, like the delight provoked in me by these reflections from guest testimonials.
We love what we do to bring people together in the borderlands and, as you can tell by world events, it is needed now more than ever.
So, be a citizen diplomat with us for so many reasons: because you want to supercharge your Spanish skills on our Spanish Immersion in the Río Sonora or you want to learn about the Mexican Jaguar from those directly working on their conservation in the Sierra Madres on our Bacanora & Jaguars expedition, or because you always wanted to see first-hand the UNESCO World Heritage site of Paquimé.
We hope you enjoy this edition, and hasta pronto,
Alex
