New Puebla Tour!
We have been working very hard to put together this trip for you and now we're ready to announce this offering!
Visiting Puebla is a deep dive into the culture, gastronomy, and heritage of Mexico and it is just a short distance from Mexico City to get there. Due to its strategic location between the coast and the capital, events that changed the course of Mexico's history took place here and set the tone for the development of the wider country. Invading armies, from Spain, the United States, and France battled and passed through here to get to Mexico City.
This excursion takes you to the heart of Mexico's culinary laboratory with its world of colors and scents from the glazed tiles of the covenant kitchens where the simmering moles were crafted to the chipotle spiked tacos arabes. While most people head to Oaxaca or Mexico City for food-focused travel, Puebla is an overlooked jewel that stole our hearts and stomachs. Here you can feast on a cornucopia of regional specialties like the cemita sandwiches, the chalupas, and the conventual sweets.
Coinciding with the Cinco de Mayo date, the itinerary also explores the festivities and impact of the French intervention during the 1860s as well as the baroque religious architecture of the city known for its colonial churches. You will find out the reasons why the French ended up here while the United States was in the throes of its Civil War and how the occupation impacted Puebla and Mexico.
