Hi friends,

The biggest news to share with you this summer is that the Borderlandia family has grown by plus one. We welcomed Julian Santiago into the world in Nogales, Arizona (a real border baby) last month. Rocío and I are over the moon with love for the handsome, little guy and we are so grateful he is healthy. We are excited for the next generation!

Debuting in our last edition, our brand-new Puebla tour proved popular selling out within a couple of days of the magazine landing. But we have good news if you are still thinking about joining us in the magical colonial city. There are now only two openings due to a couple of cancellations. Trust us, the tacos arabes, are worth the trip to Puebla alone.

We are a few days away from September, but we wanted to get an earlier start on this publication because we have a special tour that takes place only once a year on August 27. That would be the Battle of Ambos Nogales Tour from 8 AM to 10 AM this coming Tuesday.  We hope to see you there, have fun exploring Nogales, and share a bit of the history that is not in the school textbooks.

Finally, if you’ve been having Sonoran Desert summer cabin fever and need to get out of the house, our Rocky Point and Álamos: Day of the Dead are just the ticket. From the refreshing waters of the blue Sea of Cortez to the cultural immersion of the oldest cemetery in Sonora for Mexico’s commemoration of those who have passed on, dust off that passport!

Our best wishes always and we hope you enjoy this issue,

Alex
