With local connections, you'll learn about the special environment of the Upper Gulf of California and have the opportunity to visit the beach, go on an interpretive hike around the estuary, and sample some of the delicious regional cuisines. In the afternoon, you’ll have free time for relaxation and leisure.

On the third day, we'll head out to the El Pinacate y Gran Desierto de Altar UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, a vast wilderness area home to some of Mexico's most stunning geological formations. As we travel through the reserve, you'll see towering volcanic peaks, otherworldly craters, and expansive fields of lava rock. Along the way, we'll stop at various viewpoints and hiking trails to take in the breathtaking scenery and learn about the unique flora and fauna that call this rugged landscape home.
